Dr. Seth A. Eidemiller’s roots lie in the rolling hills of rural Idaho, where he grew up on a fourth-generation dairy farm. His childhood on the farm instilled in him a strong sense of discipline, work ethic, and dedication to his family and community. Before starting his medical career, Dr. Eidemiller gained hands-on experience in various fields, each contributing to his growth. As a wildland firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service, he learned to make quick, life-saving decisions under intense pressure. His time in construction exposed him to carpentry, electrical systems, and residential builds, further developing his problem-solving skills. Working in the restaurant industry also taught him how to multitask, stay organized, and communicate effectively in high-stress environments—skills that proved invaluable as a physician.
Educational Pursuits and Medical School
Dr. Eidemiller’s academic journey began at the University of Idaho, where he earned two bachelor’s degrees—one in International Studies and the other in Spanish. His interest in language and culture would later serve him well in his medical career, as effective communication with diverse populations is crucial to providing high-quality care.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Dr. Eidemiller moved to Boise to complete the necessary medical school prerequisites at Boise State University. He studied chemistry, biology, and anatomy there while working as a lab instructor, gaining practical teaching and leadership experience. In 2012, Dr. Eidemiller enrolled at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, where he spent the next four years rotating through various specialties, including pediatrics, general medicine, psychiatry, and surgery. These rotations gave him a well-rounded perspective of patient care and solidified his desire to pursue a career in emergency medicine.
Residency and Training in Emergency Medicine
After graduating from medical school in 2016, Dr. Eidemiller matched into an emergency medicine residency at UCSF-Fresno, one of California’s busiest emergency departments. The residency program exposed him to a wide range of medical emergencies, including trauma, cardiac arrests, strokes, and gunshot wounds. He received training in advanced procedures such as airway management, resuscitation, central line placements, and bedside ultrasound.
Dr. Eidemiller’s residency at UCSF-Fresno reinforced the importance of working efficiently in high-pressure situations. The experience taught him to think critically, make quick decisions, and communicate effectively with his team. He developed expertise in caring for patients with acute medical conditions and those with chronic conditions who lacked regular access to healthcare.
Professional Experience and Leadership Roles
After completing his residency, Dr. Eidemiller worked at Mercy Medical Center in Merced, where he continued to gain experience in emergency medicine. In 2020, he joined the Chico Emergency Medicine Physician Group, where his role quickly expanded. He became known for his ability to coordinate patient care, provide clear communication, and ensure that the emergency department operated smoothly. His leadership skills became evident as he worked closely with other physicians and healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes.
In 2024, Dr. Eidemiller was appointed Vice Chair of the Chico Emergency Medicine Physician Group. In this role, he oversees scheduling, staffing, quality improvement, and operational logistics while treating patients directly. Despite the administrative demands of his position, he remains passionate about providing hands-on care and staying actively involved in patient management. He also moonlights at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno to maintain his clinical skills and work in high-acuity settings.

Dr. Eidemiller holds board certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is licensed to practice in California. His clinical expertise includes advanced airway management, wound care, procedural sedation, and cardiac life support.
